Who Are Crowded Flat?
As Crowded Flat, we’ve now celebrated five years of proudly playing a small part in Scotland’s thriving independent music scene. You may have seen one of our live sessions, been at one of our gigs, or joined us at Houseguest Festival. So, who are we, and what are we all about?
Founded by George, Caitlin and Harvey, Crowded Flat exists to support emerging artists and help people discover new music in welcoming, memorable settings. We believe some of the best musical experiences happen in smaller rooms, where artists and audiences can connect in a way that isn’t possible elsewhere.
The UK DIY music scene is facing significant challenges. As more money and attention find their way to the top, many talented artists, independent venues and grassroots promoters are finding it increasingly difficult to continue doing what they do best. Our goal is to play our part in helping Scotland’s music scene thrive: keeping small venues busy, supporting artists fairly, and creating opportunities for great music to be heard.
